For a Healthier Future

Our Mission

To develop tools for the medical community to diagnose and treat cognitive decline before it leads to dementia

Why we are here

Black and Latinx Americans have higher risk for developing health conditions that can lead to memory decline.

The purpose of the Diverse VCID study is to better understand how white matter changes in the brain, which are very common in aging, affect cognition. If you are between the ages of 65 to 90, are able and willing to complete MRI scans and blood samples, and have been experiencing memory complaints in the last 1 to 3 years, you may be eligible to enroll in the study.

ABOUT DIVERSE VCID

Our Mission

Our blood circulatory systems affect our brain health. Vascular disease, or damaged blood flow, is treatable, yet it kills millions of Americans every year and affects memory and thinking skills of many more. Diverse VCID is a research study using advanced brain imaging and blood-based techniques to better understand how vascular changes cause brain injury and cognitive decline, especially in racially diverse communities.

We believe in providing meaningful opportunities for diverse communities to participate in brain health research so better tools and treatments can be developed for more people.
